9:30am Wednesday 15th January: on our first mid-week winter rideout of 2025, which is open to full Members only, Paul Norman sets out from Shell Fourwentways on an all-day ride into Suffolk. Paul stops at Needham Market for a short coffee stop, before continuing across to Wickham Market, Aldeburgh and onto The Kitchen@Thorpeness for lunch

The return route heads through Diss, then back down to Bury St Edmunds to finish in Newmarket at around 3.30pm

Both Metzeler & Pirelli have recently issued voluntary tyre recalls
If you run Metzeler Tourance or Pirelli Scorpions you might be affected: consult the Metzeler recall notification or the Pirelli recall notification for full guidance. If your tyres come from one of the recall batches, the next step is to contact the manufacturer (as detailed in the recall notification) to find out if you are due a replacement!

Given the tempestuous weather, and following advice from Cambridgeshire Constabulary (who provide a safety escort for the ride), the organizers of the Cambridge Bikers Christmas Toy Run have taken a difficult decision and announced that the ride will NOT take place on Sunday 8th December as had been planned. The CAM ride-in, which was scheduled for 8:30am, is therefore also now CANCELLED

It’s obvious disappointing that this is the second year running that the Grinch has stolen the Christmas Toy Run. But it’s somewhat heartening to note that when this happened last year the event was rescheduled to Easter, a move which made for a colourful and well-attended outing. We’ll be on the lookout for updates in the New Year

For our final Members Evening of the year we’re delighted to be welcome George from Ultimate Hearing Protection Systems. George will be talking to us about the Ultimate’s range of custom-made moulded earplugs, designed to be worn comfortably under a motorcycle helmet for long periods. The company was founded in 2001 by Dave Marshall, a biker looking to create the highest quality hearing protection system for motorcyclists. Ultimate’s CE marked products are made from anti-microbial medical grade silicone, and their client list includes police forces, Formula 1 racing teams and fire & ambulance services

Sticking firmly to tradition, our Members Evening is being held at Over Community Centre: with ample parking, a licensed bar & their seminar room at our disposal, this is a great venue to meet members of the CAM Committee, socialize with your fellow bikers and catch up with old friends. Members, Associates and their guests are welcome – but to assist with planning, please send Catherine and Nigel an email if you plan on attending
