Metzeler Tourance & Pirelli Scorpion recalls

Both Metzeler & Pirelli have recently issued voluntary tyre recalls
If you run Metzeler Tourance or Pirelli Scorpions you might be affected: consult the Metzeler recall notification or the Pirelli recall notification for full guidance. If your tyres come from one of the recall batches, the next step is to contact the manufacturer (as detailed in the recall notification) to find out if you are due a replacement!

Many thanks to eagle-eyed Terry Jacobs for unearthing and alerting us to these recalls. If your tyres come from one of the affected batches please send us an update describing your experience contacting the manufacturer and obtaining replacements

To the Watch Office for the final rideout of 2024

Aviation has been a recurring theme in 2024’s busy ride schedule, one to which ride leader Graham Maile & tail-ender Peter Grant return for our final ride of the year. Graham heads to the Watch Office Bar & Kitchen, a building which served as the operations hub for RAF Alconbury during World War II. Graham outlines the route –

Starting from the Shell station just outside Fenstanton, we cross the village before turning right to skirt St Ives and pick up the A1123 to Bluntisham & Earith. We then follow B-roads through Pidley, Warboys & the Riptons to Alconbury Hill. A short ride south on the old Great North Road takes us to Alconbury Weald and breakfast at the Watch Office

Once back on the bikes we head under the A1 and through Alconbury to begin a loop west through Old Weston & Kimbolton before turning for the Perrys and the southern shore of Grafham Water before reaching the A1 at Buckden. We finish our ride with a hop north on the A1 to Brampton Hut Services. The ride is a little shorter than usual at 55 miles

2024 Christmas Toy Run and Ride-in CANCELLED

Given the tempestuous weather, and following advice from Cambridgeshire Constabulary (who provide a safety escort for the ride), the organizers of the Cambridge Bikers Christmas Toy Run have taken a difficult decision and announced that the ride will NOT take place on Sunday 8th December as had been planned. The CAM ride-in, which was scheduled for 8:30am, is therefore also now CANCELLED

It’s obvious disappointing that this is the second year running that the Grinch has stolen the Christmas Toy Run. But it’s somewhat heartening to note that when this happened last year the event was rescheduled to Easter, a move which made for a colourful and well-attended outing. We’ll be on the lookout for updates in the New Year

Ultimate’s CE marked products are made from anti-microbial medical grade silicone, and their client list includes police forces, Formula 1 racing teams and fire & ambulance services

Sticking firmly to tradition, our Members Evening is being held at Over Community Centre: with ample parking, a licensed bar & their seminar room at our disposal, this is a great venue to meet members of the CAM Committee, socialize with your fellow bikers and catch up with old friends. Motorcycle Live 2024

In previous years Keith Tremeer has led outings to Motorcycle Live at Birmingham’s NEC. Keith can’t make it this time around, but Roger Taylor has stepped forward and proposes leading a ride (limited to a maximum of 8 bikes) on Thursday 21st November for a tour around Motorcycle Live 2024. If there’s sufficient interest Roger will firm up his route and provide participants with further details

Admittedly not everyone wants to ride in November, but if the weather is kind on the day it should be a splendid journey on the way there. Roger’s planning is still in the early stages, but he will avoid motorways on the way to Birmingham and will include a breakfast stop. The return journey, which is likely to be at least in part after sunset, will use a more direct route
