RoadSmart
If you ride a motorcycle you already appreciate the sense of freedom it gives you, the mental discipline it takes, the buddies you make, and the thrill of being on one of the coolest machines on the planet. But if you love riding, you also know its risks. It’s one reason why IAM RoadSmart developed Advanced Rider, an on-road advanced motorcycling course delivered by trained CAM volunteers that gives you greater confidence and a feeling of safety when you ride on Britain’s roads.
CAM’s team of observers will then help you train for the test, giving you as many observed runs as you want or need to improve you riding to at least test standard. All our observers are unpaid volunteers and charge nothing for the training, they ask only a few pounds towards petrol on each run.

A single payment of £149 includes:
- The IAM book “How to be a better rider”
- “Advanced Driving” the IAMs tri-annual Members magazine
- An initial assessment (carried out by us)
- All Test preparation work (undertaken by us)
- Entry into the Advanced Motorcycle Test
- IAM Associate status, with an automatic upgrade to full
- Membership of the IAM (upon passing the Advanced Test within 12 months).
