Ride briefing – 8.50am

Depart – 9.00am from BP Newmarket Road Cambridge CB5 8AA

Destination – Cressing Temple Barns, Cressing, Braintree CM77 8PD
A beautiful setting featuring two of the world’s oldest and finest timber-built barns, which date back to the 1200s and were built by the Knights Templar and complemented by a Tudor Walled Garden. There is no charge to visit the site

Meeting up at 8.45am will allow riders time to wander around the Cressing Temple Barns site if they are interested in doing so
Starting from the BP station in Cambridge, we will take the familiar Six Mile Bottom road to Brinkley and on to Great Thurlow before we turn for the A143. We then head to Clare via the winding rural roads. Having crossed Clare, we meander through Belchamp St Paul and Tilbury Juxta Clare to Great Yeldham. We will use A-roads to circle east of Braintree before branching off to the medieval Cressing Temple Barns. Breakfast is at the Tiptree Tea Rooms

The return route takes us on a single-track fest circumnavigating Braintree to join the B1057 to Great Bardfield and Finchingfield where we hang a left towards Great Sampford, Radwinter and Bartlow. We pass through Hadstock before joining the A1037 at Linton. It’s then a short hop to Fourwentways Services where the ride ends
