DESCRIPTION:This ride will be led by Catherine Ryan and tail ended by Robert Silver\n \nStart time (Meet by) – NEW TIME 8.45am \nRide briefing – 8.50am \nDepart – 9.00am from BP Newmarket Road Cambridge CB5 8AA \nDestination – Cressing Temple Barns\, Cressing\, Braintree CM77 8PD\nA beautiful setting featuring two of the world’s oldest and finest timber-built barns\, which date back to the 1200s and were built by the Knights Templar and complemented by a Tudor Walled Garden. There is no charge to visit the site \nMeeting up at 8.45am will allow riders time to wander around the Cressing Temple Barns site if they are interested in doing so\nStarting from the BP station in Cambridge\, we will take the familiar Six Mile Bottom road to Brinkley and on to Great Thurlow before we turn for the A143. We then head to Clare via the winding rural roads. Having crossed Clare\, we meander through Belchamp St Paul and Tilbury Juxta Clare to Great Yeldham. We will use A-roads to circle east of Braintree before branching off to the medieval Cressing Temple Barns. Breakfast is at the Tiptree Tea Rooms \nThe return route takes us on a single-track fest circumnavigating Braintree to join the B1057 to Great Bardfield and Finchingfield where we hang a left towards Great Sampford\, Radwinter and Bartlow. We pass through Hadstock before joining the A1037 at Linton. It’s then a short hop to Fourwentways Services where the ride ends \nRestrictions \nThis ride is restricted to 12 including the ride leader\, tail-ender and pillions       Full Members & Associates welcome \nRide Brief  Attendance at the briefing is obligatory – this ride includes single-track roads and other hazards

SUMMARY:All-day ride
DESCRIPTION:This all-day ride will be organised and led by Keith Tremeer.Restricted to 8 people\, including the Ride Leader\, Tail Ender and Pillions. Full Members only. \nDESTINATION – Our main stop for lunch will be at the George & Dragon pub\, located in Thringstone\, just north of Coalville\, with a coffee/breakfast stop on the way at The Greenhouse Cafe (located in the Langton Greenhouse and Garden Centre\, Market Harborough)\, and a refreshment stop on the way back at Costa Coffee in Oakham. \nFor the breakfast menu at The Greenhouse Café see here\, and for the lunch menu at the George & Dragon\, see here. \nEND TIME – we can expect to arrive back in the Cambridge area (Caxton Gibbet services) no later than 18:30. \nDISTANCE – +/-200 miles total \nRide Description – We’ll initially set off through Abbots Ripton\, then on to Alconbury Weston and Clopton\, before skirting to the west of Oundle. We’ll avoid Corby by taking a route to the north\, through Deenthorpe\, and ride under one of the 82 arches of the Welland Viaduct \, before reaching our mid-morning refreshment stop after about 1hr25mins (50 miles). Once refreshed\, we’ll carry on in a westerly direction\, through Smeeton\, Shearsby\, Stapleton and Coalville\, before arriving at out lunch stop 50 miles (1hr30mins) after departing our first stop. A fuel stop is programmed for just before arrival at the George & Dragon for those whose bike might require a top-up to make it all the way home. \nAfter lunch we’ll head back in the direction of Melton Mowbray (passing through Belton and Wymeswold on the way)\, then through Great Dalby and Little Dalby\, before arriving at our afternoon pit stop on the outskirts of Oakham\, 40 miles and just over 1hr after our leaving our lunch stop. The final stretch will then take us south to Uppingham\, then under the Welland Viaduct again (a different arch this time!)\, before skirting Oundle again (this time to the north). Onwards to Old Weston\, Kimbolton and Hail Weston\, St. Neots\, Toseland and Yelling\, to finish our ride at the Caxton Gibbet services.
