SUMMARY:Sunday ride through the Rodings to Bretts
DESCRIPTION:Departing from BP Newmarket Road\, this ride will be led by Catherine Ryan and tail-ended by Graham Maile – who have provided the following outline of the outing: \nWe follow mainly B-roads through Balsham\, Great Sampford & Thaxted before crossing the centre of Dunmow. Turning onto the B184\, we pass no fewer than three (High\, Aythorpe & Leaden) Rodings before reaching our breakfast destination at a fourth – the village of White Roding.     Consult Brett’s breakfast menu here \nOur return route zig-zags alternatively north & west through the Hadhams\, Buntingford & Ashwell before swinging east again through Shingay-cum-Wendy to BP Arrington\, where the ride ends after 83 miles in total. SUMMARY:Associate Theory Evening
DESCRIPTION:This event takes place on Thursday 15th August\, starting at 7.30pm\, at Barton Sports & Social Pavilion (High Street\, Barton\, Cambridge\, CB23 7BG – what3words). \nAssociate Theory Evening is\, of course\, aimed primarily at Associates preparing for their IAM Advanced Riding test – but full Members are also welcome\, especially those who recently passed their Advanced Rider test\, to share their experiences. The interactive session will be led by Chris Curryer\, Senior National Observer\, who will dive into the theory of your Advanced Rider training in a friendly & informative way. Members of the Observer team will be there in support\, sharing their expertise & offering invaluable input in relation to the test. \nAssociate members are strongly encouraged to attend this event – including those currently waiting to be assigned to an Observer. The evening should finish by 9pm\, with the option to head to the nearby White Horse Inn (who serve a nice cup of coffee) afterwards. An email is coming soon with booking details

SUMMARY:Sunday ride south to Hertfordshire
DESCRIPTION:It’s the dream team book-ending this ride\, with Barry D leading & John Hawkins in tail position!  Their ride heads south into Hertfordshire – with breakfast at The Greenhouse Café\, Vanstone Park Garden Centre. Barry sketches his plan for the ride: \nDeparting from Tesco Extra in Royston\, we head south along the B1368 through Barkway & Puckeridge\, before travelling on the A10 for one junction to Wadesmill. Returning to B-roads\, Hertford & Hatfield follow before we swing north again to Kimpton\, Codicote & the Greenhouse Café \nAfter breakfast we double-back briefly\, then follow back lanes to Frogmore Bottom & Charlton. Having skirted Hitchin we head through Apsley End\, Shefford & Upper Caldecote\, then cross the A1 to Sandy\, Everton & Waresley. SUMMARY:All-day ride to the Cotswolds
DESCRIPTION:Join Chris Curryer on  an all-day ride\, taking in the rolling hills of the Cotswolds & the Chilterns!\nOpen to full Members only\, this ride departs BP Arrington at 9:00am\, and ends McDonalds Royston at around 7:30pm \nChris describes the day – \nOur route takes us through Woburn Park\, on to the A5 and through to the Super Sausage Café for a coffee stop. It’s then on through Buckingham\, Ayhno\, Moreton-in-Marsh\, Chipping Campden & Broadway and up Fish Hill (a great road – see here!) \nWe move on to Bourton-on-the-Water – often referred to as the Venice of the Cotswolds – where we stop for lunch\, with time to stroll around this enchanting English village or to visit a small motor museum (or an even tinier model village!). Some lanes riding follows as we head through Bibury & Burford\, before heading back through Bicester & Thame\, stopping for afternoon tea if you still have an appetite.  \nWe pass close to RAF Halton before switching to A41 / M25 / A1(M) / A505 for a more direct route to the ride’s end at McDonalds Royston \nBriefing – 8:50am        Ride starts – 9:00am          Ride ends – around 7:30pm\nTotal distance ~265 miles \nLimited in number and to full Members who are confident riders (there are some challenging roads along the way).
