SUMMARY:All-day ride to Hunstanton
DESCRIPTION:This ride is led by Keith Tremeer and tail-ended by Barry D. \nOur start point will be the carpark at Tesco\, Milton\, from where we’ll head NE through Swaffham Prior\, Burwell and Fordham\, before turning north through Isleham and Prickwillow (your bike’s suspension will get a good workout on the road between Isleham and Prickwillow)\, then to Downham Market\, where\, after about an hour on the road\, we’ll make a brief (30-45 minutes) stop at the Costa Coffee for some refreshments. Then it’ll be on to Swaffham\, Castle Acre\, Great Massingham and Docking\, before joining the main A149 into Hunstanton\, arriving there about an hour after leaving our refreshment stop. \nThere are several fish & chip restaurants within easy walking distance from the seafront\, and depending on the weather\, we can choose to have take-aways and gather on the grass area near the bandstand to eat. Alternatively\, for those that prefer the comfort of air-conditioned indoor dining\, a good choice would be Henry’s (my personal favourite – I receive no commission for that indication!!)  There are also numerous ice cream parlours nearby\, so we can have a truly indulgent day at the beach. For those who wish to dip a toe (or more) in the sea\, please feel free (towels are not provided). \nWe’ll aim to head back at around 13:30\, initially passing through the Sandringham estate\, then Narborough and on to Downham Market\, where\, after an hour on the road\, we’ll make our final refreshment stop at the same place as on the way out. Thereafter\, the final stretch of our route home will take us through Friday Bridge and March\, where we’ll pick up the A141\, which will take us all the way to the Riverside carpark in Huntingdon\, where the ride will end. \nTotal distance will be around 160 miles\, divided roughly equally between the out and return routes\, with a total on-the-road time of just less than 4h30mins. It is estimated that we’ll arrive back in Huntingdon at between 16:30 and 17:00 \nFor those of you for whom the 160 miles will be “pushing it” for your bike’s range\, a re-fueling stop is planned just after leaving Hunstanton. \nPlease arrive at Tesco\, Milton carpark (W3W: ///goad.thin.lift) no later than 08:45 with your bike duly fueled\, for the pre-ride briefing. Departure time is 09:00. \nThis ride is open to Members and Associates\, and is limited to 12 participants (including ride leader and tailer\, and pillions). \nBookings available soon via Ticket Tailor \n

SUMMARY:Ride to the Lincolnshire Wolds
DESCRIPTION:This mid-week ride will be led by Ian Dunckley. \n\nWe will start from the Starbucks next to theA10 BP fuel station (///ballparks.displays.seriously) and end in the car park at Ely leisure village just off the A10 (///diplomats.showcase.fairy). This trip takes us North through the fen roads and the A17\, to the A and B roads around and through the Wolds of Lincolnshire with more curves than I can count and roads with very few potholes. There are few 20mph zones and no motorway or dual carriageway sections\, roads across the fens tend to be straight but this is not the case once beyond Coningsby where the roads become fluid curving rural roads with rises and dips in the Wolds. You will see beautiful countryside and market towns with a feel of old England.\nWe also get some experience of many RAF bases from WWII\, a fabulous early brunch at Woodhall Spa and/or a great hot or cold pie at Bardney\, then refuel at Market Raisen. Form here if time and energy levels permit we can ride to Caistor\, or go direct across to Louth for mid afternoon tea\, then a nice tour south through the East side of the Wolds to Horncastle or to the Aviation heritage centre at East Kirby for a final rest and tea before heading back to Ely in the reverse of the outward route\, it always looks different in reverse.\nThe route takes in Welney\, Upwell\, Outwell\, Wisbech\, Long Sutton\, Coningsby\, Bardney\, Wragby\, Market Raisen\, Caistor\, Louth\, Alford\, Horncastle.\nWe will stop at the Tea House in the Woods at Woodhall Spa at around 1130 which I will try and keep open for breakfast\, Assuming that you can get a splendid breakfast or something more intricate from the lunch menu.\nThe link is here

SUMMARY:" When Grandad takes Gran for a ride" A talk by John Gibson
DESCRIPTION:  \nJohn’s thirst for motorcycle touring started when he joined CAM.  Married for 46 years\, he and his wife Ann astounded their children and friends when they announced their plan to ride across the USA on a motorcycle. \n \nFollowing months of planning\, their trip begins in Los Angeles where they head North along the Pacific Highway to San Francisco on the way meeting zebras\, elephant seals and sighting distant whale spouts. In San Francisco they have a joyous reunion with friends before they pick up a Harley Davidson motorcycle for the 3\,500-mile trip to Washington DC. Their route takes them through Yosemite\, Death Valley\, Las Vegas\, Grand Canyon\, Indian Reservations\, Gallup\, Route 66 to St Louis and then Washington DC. They avoid a forest fire and a mountain pass blizzard but ride into a Mid-West thunderstorm and dense mountain fog. With wit they share the tales of the people they met on route including an introduction to the American  gun culture and how the early morning sun almost spelt disaster.” \n
