All-day ride to Kent on Sept 12

Barry D describes his forthcoming all-day ride, which is open to full members (and their pillions) only…

We’ll set out at 8:30am from Cambridge Services – you’ll need a full tank as it is about 150 miles each way! Last year we picked up a couple of riders en-route (at the M11 Duxford roundabout & the planned stop at Oakdene). Give me a call if you’d like to discuss this option

It’s down the M11 and over the Dartford bridge to the Oakdene truck stop, then across the garden of England to Hythe, Dover & St Margaret’s Bay for lunch. On a clear day the French coast is visible

After lunch we’ll head north to Kingsdown & Deal Castle, then west to Canterbury, Chartham & the Hook & Hatchet for a quick stop before heading for the A229, A2, Dartford Tunnel, M25, M11 & home. Those who have made the trip previously will notice some changes after the Hook & Hatchet to include more green lanes

There is the option to avoid all major roads on the return journey depending on time, weather and forcefulness of the riders! Depending on the length of our stops, expect to be back between 7:00pm & 7:30pm

To reserve a place please contact Barry ( or 07733 388712). Full details in the Events Calendar

Places available on Triumph factory tour

Postponed twice because of lockdown restrictions, Keith Tremeer has just confirmed that his all-day ride to the Triumph factory in Leicestershire is set for Sunday 26th September
With some of those who originally signed up not able to make the new date, there are now three spaces available on this great day out

First-come, first served       Click here to email Keith for further details

Secure your place by sending £20 tour fee to Keith
who will refund the original participants

The 90-minute factory tour is the main attraction, but there is also around 2 hours of countryside riding in each direction and the opportunity for lunch in the company of friends… plus plenty of time to visit the Triumph Motorcycle Exhibition and purchase clothing & memorabilia

August 15th – ride to Monks Eleigh

With sunny, calm weather in prospect there’s every reason to join ride leader Janet Pinion and tailer Terry Jacobs for this Sunday’s rideout, which sets off from Tesco Ely at 9:15am. This earlier-than-usual departure should ensure riders meet the 11:00am breakfast deadline

The breakfast stop, Bridge Farm Barns Tea Room at Monks Eleigh, has limited space and therefore places on this ride are limited. Email Catherine now to reserve your spot. Please indicate in your email if you intend to bring a pillion

If you’ve ever joined Janet’s annual ride to Aldeburgh you’ll recognise some familiar roads! The total mileage for this outing should be a little over 100 miles. Hope to see you there!
