Ladies Cotswolds weekend

A small group of our female members recently took themselves off to the Cotswolds for a three-day biking weekend. Whilst there they teamed up with members of Cheltenham & Cotswold Advanced Motorcyclists, who took them on insiders’ ride through the backroads and picturesque villages of this lovely English region

Hunting for Rickman

A retired Humberside Police Traffic Officer and fellow IAM member has been in contact with CambsIAM to seek your help as he researches the eighty Rickman Métisse motorcycles which entered service as police vehicles in the UK in the early 1970s – twelve of them bought by the Mid-Anglia Constabulary between November 1972 and November 1973

Cambridge 1973 – a Mid-Anglia Constabulary Rickman Métisse

Our fellow biker has put together detailed background reading on the unique story of the Rickman Métisse, its link with Mid-Anglia Constabulary and what became of the twelve used in our region. Click here to read more

Perhaps you recall these machines, or even have an photograph you’d be willing to share? Or maybe you even know the whereabouts of a Métisse? Just contact sunday-rides@cambsiam.org.uk and we’ll put you into touch. All anecdotes, images & potential leads will be gratefully received
